Ms Sabrina Li
Ms Sabrina (Xiaoxiao) Li is the Head of International Programs and Partnerships at St Margaret’s Berwick Grammar School.
Ms Li is an award-winning education leader and advocate for cross-cultural learning whose work spans international student support, community engagement, and global education partnerships. Her 14-year career has been shaped by personal experience, professional dedication, and a strong commitment to inclusive education.
Born and raised in China, Ms Li developed a passion for learning at an early age. She experienced the challenges of a high-pressure academic environment and aspired to one day become the kind of teacher who inspires students to thrive — not simply perform. She moved to Australia in 2008 and began her Master of Education at Monash University in 2009 as an international student. This experience proved transformative. At Monash University, Ms Li was immersed in an innovative and supportive teaching environment that redefined her vision for education and continues to influence her work today.
In her current role at St Margaret’s Berwick Grammar, she designs and leads international study tours, coordinates global partnerships, and supports international students and migrant families as they transition into Australian school life. She also teaches Chinese language and cultural studies, fostering intercultural understanding and global citizenship among her students.
Ms Li’s work has been recognised nationally. She was named one of The Educator’s Most Influential Educators in 2024 and received the 40 Under 40 Most Influential Asian-Australians in Education award in 2022. She also received the Berwick Leader Community Award for her contributions to supporting migrant communities and enhancing international education within the local region.
In addition to her school leadership, Ms Li founded the APAC Innovation Exchange, a platform that connects educators, entrepreneurs, and policy leaders across Australia, China and the US. The Exchange facilitates cross-border collaboration in technology, education, youth leadership, and innovation, reflecting Sabrina’s vision for a more interconnected and inclusive future.
As a first-generation migrant and proud Monash alumna, Ms Li’s journey is a testament to the power of education to bridge cultures, transform communities, and unlock new opportunities. Through her leadership, teaching, and global partnerships, she continues to advance Monash values and make a lasting impact on students, families, and institutions across the region.
