More than 6500 students from 10 faculties graduated over a two week period in May as Monash University moves to a new format for its Australian graduation ceremonies.

Clayton campus ceremonies will now be held over a two week period in May and a one week period in October (20 – 24 October).

The new format aims to create a sense of celebration and community around the occasion.

May graduates heard from a range of inspirational speakers including Governor of Victoria His Excellency Alex Chernov AC QC, influential Australian fashion designer Carla Zampatti AC, pianist and composer Professor Paul Grabowsky, and marketing pioneer John Zeigler.

For the first time, in addition to formal ceremonial photography, graduates were be able to have their photos taken for free at a special social media enabled photo kiosk in the Campus Centre before and after their ceremonies. These photos are able to be shared on social media and via email.

The Alumni Relations team also provided graduates with information on alumni benefits and career-related services.
