More than 5000 students from 10 faculties have graduated at Clayton campus this month in our first Melbourne-based ceremonies for 2015.

This is the second year that the University has held graduations in blocks rather than individually across the year. The new format aims to bring a sense of celebration to graduations and provide other students and staff with the opportunity to get involved.

Monash also announced a number of Honorary Doctorate recipients across the fortnight including former Victorian Police Chief Commissioner Ken Lay APM; former High Court Judge the Hon. Michael Kirby AC; renowned scientist, Dr Ian Wilding; and founder of Warwick Manufacturing Group, Professor Lord Bhattacharyya Kt CBE, Deputy Chancellor of Monash, Ms Louise Adler AM; and prominent actor and producer, Mr Max Gillies AM.

This year the Monash Alumni Engagement team also worked with student ambassadors to provide the opportunity for graduands to share their day with family and friends.

In addition to formal ceremonial photography, graduates had their photos taken for free at a special social media enabled photo booth in the Campus Centre after their ceremonies.

Graduands were also asked to write down and share their Monash memories as part of a new installation. A sign with the letters M-O-N-A-S-H gradually became covered in messages written in faculty-coloured Kevron key tags.
