We're often asked how alumni can further engage with Monash while providing help for current students. Monash alumni are incredibly generous and may give their time through mentoring or philanthropically such as bequests or scholarship funds. 

Did you know we run a comprehensive Work Integrated Learning program through Monash College? This is your opportunity to host a student in your workplace through an internship.

Working with our students before they graduate gives you access to some of the best and brightest minds of today. They bring fresh ideas, great skills, and can help develop solutions for the real world challenges we face in our ever evolving world. Managing and mentoring interns also provides development opportunities for you and your staff. Your business will benefit and you will expand your network to include our future business leaders.

What are the costs involved?

There is no cost for partnering with Monash and accepting an intern. Monash University provides visa assistance as well as insurance for the student (if required) and we can help you design an internship project or placement that’ll suit your workplace. Internships usually run between three and four weeks. All we require is that you have public indemnity insurance, a supervisor for the intern and a safe place for them to work.

You select and interview your preferred candidates and offer them the internship.

Once the internship has commenced, the team will be in touch so you can give feedback on your intern's performance. At the end of the placement, you can tell us how it all went with a thorough debrief.
