Mr George Tambassis

Mr George Tambassis is the National President of The Pharmacy Guild of Australia. He has been in community pharmacy for over 25 years and joined the Pharmacy Guild Victorian Branch Committee in 2005. He is a partner in five Victorian community pharmacies.
Mr Tambassis has a keen interest in wound care management, harm minimisation programs and continuing education for pharmacists.
As National President of the Guild, he signed the 6th Community Pharmacy Agreement in 2015 with the Australian Government. The Agreement underpins the distribution and supply of Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme medicines across Australia, through 5700 community pharmacies.
Mr Tambassis aims to make sure pharmacy maintains and enhances its role in our health system by continually advancing the profession and providing the public with services, value and advice they will not get elsewhere. He travels regularly, representing the Guild and Australian pharmacies at major international pharmacy meetings and events.
Mr Tambassis has a Bachelor of Pharmacy from Monash University and is a member of the Biosimilar Awareness Initiative Reference Group
