Why Accounting?

Accounting is the foundation of business and opens the door to a rewarding career with many opportunities and possibilities. Accounting is concerned with resource allocation, measurement and value creation and interacts across organisational functions including senior management, finance, marketing, human resources, information systems and operations.

Accounting, as an area of specialisation, not only offers strong employability prospects, but it can also be the first step towards a senior management position in a range of organisations. Accountants don’t just report or audit a firm’s performance, they also provide critical advice on finance, tax and a range of management issues. In fact, they provide a strategic function in all organisations and a crucial role in business accountability.
