Health, Enviro, Ed, Labour, Public group (HEELP)
Members of the Health, Environmental, Education, Labour and Public (HEELP) research group are engaged in a broad range of research activities. Researchers in the group use a variety of empirical tools and theory to conduct their research and draw on different types of data. These include secondary data (survey data, administrative data and geo-spatial data) and field-based research (primary surveys and field experiments). Broadly, their research investigates frontier topics in the subfields of Health, Environmental, Labour, Public Finance and Public Economics often with attention to policy relevance. Their research covers countries across all parts of the world.
There is common ground in research interests between the HEELP group and other research groups in the department. The HEELP group actively contributes to and participates in several seminar series in the department.
Group members organize the annual HELP Workshop held in Melbourne, and are also active in co-organising international conferences and workshops. They also engage with policymakers domestically and abroad.
