Why cycle to campus?

Cycling is one of the most sustainable, cost-effective and time-saving ways to commute to Monash. It reduces your environmental impact while supporting your wellbeing.

Bike arrival stations and facilities

All Monash campuses are equipped with secure bike cages, showers, change rooms, air pumps and tool stations, making cycling to campus easier than ever. Register for access via the bike arrival station form.

Clayton Campus

  • Southern Bike Arrival Station — Basement, Learning & Teaching Building
  • James Gormley BAS — Ground floor, N1 car park (5 Rainforest Walk)
  • 211 Wellington Rd — Multi-level car park with change rooms & lockers

Caulfield Campus

  • Building J Bike Cage — 124-bike capacity, pump and tool stand
  • Showers and change rooms available at Monash Sport

Parkville Campus

  • Building 404 Bike Cages — Level 1 (21 bikes), Level 2 (11 bikes)
  • Showers & change rooms on both levels

Peninsula Campus

  • MPARC Velopod — 34-bike capacity, repair station & pump
  • Showers and change rooms at Monash Sport

Access to secure bike cages and arrival stations is free but requires staff and students to register for access.

To keep your bicycle safe remember:

  • Always lock your bike through the frame and wheels.
  • Use a second lock for the front or rear wheel when possible.
  • All major bike stations have lighting and CCTV for safety.
  • In an emergency, contact Monash Security on 9905 3333.

Staying safe on the road

Whether you’re commuting or riding for fun, follow bicycle road rules and stay aware of your surroundings. Always wear a helmet (is it legally required in Victoria), use lights when visibility is low, signal clearly, stop at red lights, and check your brakes, tyres and lights before you ride. Uniride and Bike Repairs

Need a quick tune-up, a puncture fix, or bike accessories? Uniride is a hub for student riders at Monash run by passionate cyclists, for cyclists. Located at Clayton campus at the N1 Carpark, the store offers repairs, servicing, parts and expert advice for both new and experienced riders.

Students and staff can purchase new and second-hand bikes, find safety gear, and get help maintaining their bike so it’s safe and ride-ready.

Whether you're new to cycling or already commuting on two wheels, connecting with other riders can make your journey safer, easier and more fun.
