Creating Quantum Literacies

As the horizon and promise of Quantum becomes increasingly close and tangible, institutions, publics and students will need ways of understanding and engaging with its implications, technologies, services, process and experiences.

While there are likely to be efforts to explain quantum to wider audiences delivered by technology experts, Monash Quantum Futures Collaboration seeks to ensure that the implications of quantum in institutional practices, social and everyday life are comprehensible to a wider audience. To achieve this this stream builds on the research findings and design practice developed in the Designing Quantum Futures and Quantum Ready Society streams. The unique new knowledge about Quantum futures delivered by these streams will enable the Creating Quantum Literacies stream to ensure that quantum is made visible and accessible to this wider community.

The Creating Quantum Literacies stream will mobilise ETLab’s expertise in documentary filmmaking, media engagement, public speaking and public events.

Quantum Brokering
Our ambition is to create new ways of envisioning quantum-ready futures, led by new future quantum society brokers. As part of this we're partnering with Prof Minna Ruckenstein and the Brokering Algorithmic Futures project to bring brokering to the Quantum Futures Collaboration; or as Minna puts it Brokering goes Quantum.
