REACH: Research to Enhance Aged Care worker Health and wellbeing
REACH: Research to Enhance Aged Care worker Health and wellbeing
The challenge
A quality aged care system requires a healthy aged care workforce. The sector has a high workforce turnover, which raises concerns about the wellbeing of aged care workers.
Our impact
- Co-designing practical, evidence-based wellbeing interventions with aged care providers and workers to create and test solutions that work.
- Preventing physical and mental harm among aged care workers and enriching their careers by supporting learning and growth.
- Providing a research evidence base for the state of wellbeing in aged care workers and the key impacts on their wellbeing at work.
- Creating a workforce-consultation model for national change.
Project leads
Co-led by Monash University’s Professor Karen Walker-Bone and Professor Helen Rawson the project has been undertaking research since 2023 and will end during 2026.
