Healthy Active Cities
Healthy Active Cities
We develop the evidence and tools to design healthier, safer, more equitable and sustainable cities, with a particular focus on transport. Our research tackles every part of the system that shapes urban health, from individual experience to the environments and policies that shape entire cities, generating insights that drive better decisions for population and planetary health.
We're part of the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine.
About us
We are an interdisciplinary research team working to make cities healthier, safer, more equitable and sustainable.
Safety and User Experiences
We study how crashes happen and how transport environments shape people's experience of safety, comfort and stress.
Urban Mobility Data Systems
We build the data and modelling capabilities to inform smarter mobility decisions.
Designing Interventions for Active and Sustainable Mobility
We design, implement and evaluate infrastructure, behavioural, and policy interventions that are grounded in the needs of communities.
Gender and Mobility Equity
We work to address transport inequities and centre the needs of underserved communities.
Whole-of-System Evaluation
for Impact
We conduct comprehensive, real-world evaluations to understand the effectiveness, reach, and impact of transport interventions.
