Australia and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists Clinical Trials Network (ANZCA CTN)

The ANZCA Clinical Trials Network (CTN) is committed to being a global leader in delivering high-quality clinical trial evidence that translates into safer, more effective clinical practice in anaesthesia, perioperative medicine, and pain medicine.

The Network has more than 70 hospital sites participating in CTN-endorsed trials across Australia and New Zealand. Its operations are centrally supported by the CTN Office, located within the School of Translational Medicine at Monash University. The CTN Office team reports to Professor Paul Myles, Director of the Department of Anaesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine, and Head of the ANZCA CTN at Monash University.

CTN Office team

The team supports the delivery of CTN-endorsed trials, manages core ANZCA trials business operations, and maintains strong connections with ANZCA investigators, research coordinators, and network sites. They bring extensive expertise in clinical trial coordination and management, and have well-established links with CTN members both nationally and internationally.

Working closely with the CTN Executive and the Anaesthesia Research Coordinators Network (ARCN) Sub-committee, the CTN Office helps to design and deliver multicentre clinical trials, promote CTN activities, and run workshops and educational forums aimed at strengthening research capacity across the region.

MRFF-funded studies

The team also supports several NHMRC and MRFF-funded trials underway.
