Drug Target Identification
Monash Drug Target Identification is a collaborative, custom designed, state of the art facility at the Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Science (MIPS), located in the Melbourne biomedicine precinct in Parkville. DTI works with academic and industry partners to provide services and share expertise to advance projects related to the drug target identification process.
Our technologies allow the accurate identification, characterization, quantification and analysis of proteins and metabolites from diverse sample types, answering research questions from a system-wide perspective. The facility employs trained and qualified staff that are committed to providing clients with the highest quality service. Excellence and quality are paramount through all stages of the research, as we work with partners to make an impact. Our data has contributed to 70 unique publications in our first 6 years, and provided many unpublished insights into other drug discovery programs in academia and industry.
We also have close partnerships with external platforms to provide clients with complementary approaches to drug target identification. This includes the other two nodes of the Monash Proteomics and Metabolomics Platform in Clayton, the Advanced Genomics Facility at WEHI, the Discovery Biology group at Griffith University, the Centre for Therapeutic Discovery at ANU and the Centre for Cancer Biology at UniSA.

Our mission
To equip our collaborators with the highest quality proteomic and metabolomic data through access to the best of modern mass spectrometry approaches (Orbitrap Astral Mass Spectrometry) for drug target and biomarker identification, while leveraging 15+ years of expert experience in identifying drug targets with metabolomics and proteomics approaches.
Quality
As part of the Monash Research Platform Network, we are committed to providing excellence and quality through all our activities. To achieve this objective, we have implemented a platform quality management system that complies with the requirements of ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
