Cathie Reid and Kate Morris have been inducted into the 2015 Australian Businesswomen’s Network (ABN) Businesswomen’s Hall of Fame.

The Hall of Fame celebrates Australian female business owners who have been exemplary in their industries, are trailblazers and demonstrate inspiring and aspiring business journeys.

Meet the alumnae added to the Victorian Honour Roll of Women

Cathie Reid (BPharm 1991) sits at the helm of EPIC Pharmacy Group, one of Australia’s largest suppliers of pharmaceutical and clinical services for the hospital, oncology and aged care sectors. The Epic Group has also spawned APHS Packaging and Icon Cancer Care, two successful Australian businesses that are compassionate towards community needs. The former delivers medication compliance packages to over 20,000 elderly Australians, whilst the latter manages more than 75,000 patient visits yearly, which makes it Australia’s largest private provider of cancer care.

Keen business acumen and an entrepreneurial spirit have been critical to Cathy's success. Her knowledge of the healthcare needs of Australia’s aging population and the health and aged care have enabled her to be at the forefront of many significant developments in the healthcare and pharmacy sector.

As a self-confessed makeup junkie, founder and director of Adore Beauty, Kate Morris (BBus(Mgt) 2002) started her company in her garage in 1999 with a small amount of seed funding and the desire to give people access to products they loved no matter where they lived.

Adore Beauty launched when there was no broadband in Australia and e-commerce was dismissed as a pipe dream but Kate’s ability to recognise a gap in the market and capitalise on emerging technology has paid off. From stocking a few products and making one sale a week when it launched, Adore Beauty now attracts more than two million visitors per year and has more than 4000 products and over 120 brands available to consumers.

For the past 17 years, the ABN has been recognising and profiling Australia’s leading female entrepreneurs through the Hall of Fame.

Over that time, more than 180 women have been inducted into the Hall of Fame – some high profile leaders of industry; some emerging entrepreneurs and small business owners; others the champions of the community sector.
