Purpose

A focus on equity, diversity and inclusion has been fundamental to our organisational strategy for more than three decades. The Staff Equity and Diversity survey has been developed to help us better understand how Monash staff experience their work and identify how we can further build a workplace culture that values diversity and supports inclusion.

We encourage you to take part and share your views related to workplace culture, inclusive practices, career progression and development, flexible work, support for parents and carers.

Contributing your responses to this survey will help inform a range of opportunities and actions designed to improve equity, transparency, accessibility and support for staff irrespective of their gender identity, age, sexual orientation, religion, cultural background, faiths and heritages. Findings will influence the University's multi-year action plans within the Diversity and Inclusion Framework and will support the development of new evidence-based action plans.

Survey Content

In this survey, we ask staff about their experiences and perceptions of:

• Workplace Culture
• Academic development and career progression (academic staff)
• Professional development and career progression (professional staff)
• Flexible working
• Support for parents and carers

Socio-demographic and employment details will further allow us to analyse survey data for specific groups as we recognise that experiences of our staff are influenced by many different factors.
