Background: Value of Networking
In response to this feedback, the Athena Swan Steering Group developed an action item to establish "STEMM Women Academic Network" (SWAN) with the aim of facilitating network and mentoring opportunities within Monash University. The STEMM Women Academic Network was launched in December 2019.
Meaningful networking can facilitate long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with those in your professional circles, it can support the development of new skill sets, career planning strategies, provide access to knowledge, to gaining new insights as well as forming invaluable mentoring partnerships.

Become a member
Membership is open to academic women at all career stages, who work, research or teach at Monash University in a STEMM field or STEMM related field.
Responses collated as part of membership registrations will further inform the Network's focus over the next couple of years. Please feel free to submit your feedback, suggestions or ideas at any time to gender-equity@monash.edu
Network Advisory Group
The purpose of the Advisory Group is to help shape the Network’s objectives and focus in alignment with the principles of Athena Swan, and the Network’s vision to “Empower, Connect, Thrive.”
