Make transformational
Make transformational learning experiences through creativity, curiosity and collaboration: An opportunity to visit the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture at the Monash University Caulfield Campus, presented by Associate Professor Gene Bawden and Dr Indae Hwang.
This specially designed experience day is for high school students interested in design futures, from years 10—12. The session will introduce its participants to the design approach unique to Monash, by engaging in a design making activity that demonstrates the transformative potential of design solutions that intersect designerly thinking with new technologies. Regardless of what units you’ve taken in high school, a design education at Monash is an opportunity to bring together creative skills and approaches intent on making a positive difference in the world. This experience day enables you to sample our approach first-hand, in a real, face to face design project.
The Department of Design at Monash University is home to four exciting design degree programs: the Bachelor of Communication Design, the Bachelor of Industrial Design, the Bachelor of Spatial Design, and the Bachelor of Collaborative Design. Design has global impact. It aids our journey through life; helps us communicate; builds communities, addresses complex challenges, and in doing so, projects us forward into new and exciting futures. The design degrees we offer empower their cohorts with the knowledge and skills to make significant contributions to the world through design thinking, design making, and design technologies.
This event is part of Melbourne Design Week 2022, an initiative of the Victorian Government in collaboration with the NGV.
