Monash Emergency Research Collaborative (MERC)
Monash Emergency Research Collaborative (MERC)
The Monash Emergency Research Collaborative (MERC) is a multi-disciplinary collaborative network consisting of both clinical and research focused staff in emergency care. We focus on undertaking translational research that provides outcomes aimed at driving the implementation of best practise emergency care.
We are part of the Department of Medicine in the School of Clinical Sciences at Monash Health.

About us
We believe that the care of patients in the emergency department benefits from an evidence-based, problem-orientated and patient-centered approach.

Research areas
Research interests of MERC are wide-ranging and include clinical research in emergency medicine and toxicology. Our clinical research focuses on pragmatic patient-centric research that is aimed at driving innovation and change.

Research projects
MERC researchers are clinicians, scientists and academics. They work on ground-breaking research while providing emergency care services across the Emergency Departments of Monash Health sites.

Our partners
We partner with Australian and international health services, institutions and organisations, and locally with our community and consumers to deliver exemplary evidence-based research, teaching and emergency department services.
