Dr Maryam Moradi

Dr Maryam Moradi is an academic midwife and women’s sexual and reproductive health researcher. She holds a BSc in Midwifery and an MSc in Midwifery Education. She has been a registered midwife in Iran since 2005.
Dr Moradi completed her PhD at the Australian National University Medical School in February 2015, and her PhD dissertation entitled “Exploring women’s experiences of living with endometriosis and its impact; development and psychometric properties of a questionnaire to measure the impact of endometriosis on women’s lives”. In addition, Dr Moradi obtained a certificate of the “From Research to Practice, Training Course in Sexual and Reproductive Health Research” in 2013 from the World Health Organization, Geneva.
Since completing her PhD, Dr Moradi has been Assistant Professor of Reproductive Health at the Department of Midwifery, School of Nursing and Midwifery at the Mashhad University of Medical Sciences (February 2015–January 2023). This role involved teaching, clinical and research outputs in the field of midwifery, primary care, public health, and women’s sexual and reproductive health. She has been supervising several Masters and PhD students and she has written and/or translated more than 10 books/book chapters in her field.
Dr Moradi commenced her work with the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Monash University, as a senior research fellow at the SPHERE NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence, Department of General Practice (February 2023–February 2024), where she was the project manager of the Endometriosis Management Plan (Endo-MP) project, focusing on developing, implementing, and evaluating a plan to support endometriosis and pelvic pain management in primary care settings for providers and patients.
Dr Moradi joined the Global and Women's Health, as an affiliate researcher in February 2024. Dr Moradi’s research interests are in fields of maternal and child health, midwifery, women’s sexual and reproductive health, public health, health promotion, and endometriosis. Dr Moradi is passionate about helping women, mothers, neonate and families to live healthy, productive and fulfilled lives.
