Dr Rosamond Dwyer
Research Affiliate, Global and Women's Health
Dr Rosamond Dwyer is a specialist clinician and early career academic. Clinically, Dr Dwyer is a consultant medical specialist in emergency medicine with additional experience in retrieval and prehospital medicine. Additionally, she serves as a reserve specialist medical officer for the Royal Australian Navy in the fields of emergency medicine and aeromedical retrieval. As an academic Dr Dwyer is affiliated with the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Monash University. She has interests that span emergency medicine, public health, acute care of older people and health service design and delivery. Dr Dwyer completed her PhD in 2020 in which she examined the interface between residential aged care, prehospital care and the emergency department. To continue this work, she has recently been awarded a grant by the National Centre for Healthy Ageing to examine the mental health of older people presenting to hospital and subsequently to undertake the co-design of a digital instrument to facilitate psychosocial screening and improve communication for older people experiencing emergency medical care. Dr Dwyer is the research lead for the Peninsula Health Emergency Department. She has recently served on the Research Committee of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine and is a current member of the Peninsula Health Human Research and Ethics Committee.
