Professor Jane Fisher appointed Deputy Chair of Global Health Alliance Australia

4 December 2019

Professor Jane Fisher, Director of Global and Women’s Health, has been appointed Deputy Chair of Global Health Alliance Australia.

Established in 2016, Global Health Alliance Australia is a peak body aimed at advancing sustainable development through improved health equity and health security in the Asia-Pacific region. Now a 60+ member organisation, the Alliance has recently been funded to provide a Secretariat for Australia and New Zealand’s 52 World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centres.

Professor Fisher’s appointment builds on strong ties between the Alliance and Monash University. Health and climate change policy paper, ‘From Townsville to Tuvalu’ was successfully launched to a crowded audience at the Monash School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine on July 31, 2019.
