Pre-hospital, Emergency and Trauma Research

Belinda GabbeThe Pre-hospital, Emergency and Trauma Research Unit is headed by Professor Belinda Gabbe. The Unit is responsible for a number of leading clinical quality registries, including the Victorian State Trauma Outcomes Registry Monitoring Group (VSTORM), the Victorian Orthopaedic Trauma Outcomes Registry (VOTOR), the Burns Registry of Australia and New Zealand (BRANZ) and the Australian Resuscitation and Outcomes Consortium Epistry (Aus-ROC Epistry). These registries play an important role in the health system and involve high-level interaction with senior industry, government, medical specialists and other professional and academic personnel. The Unit also manages the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence in Australian Resuscitation Outcomes Consortium (Aus-ROC), the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence in Pre-hospital Emergency Care Australia and New Zealand (PEC-ANZ) and the NHMRC funded clinical trial "Reduction of oxygen after cardiac arrest: The EXACT trial".
