Victorian Orthopaedic Trauma Outcomes Registry (VOTOR)
VOTOR is a clinical quality registry and a collaboration of hospital and academic institutions.
We gather and interpret information about the management of orthopaedic traumatic injuries, complications, outcomes and treatment approaches. We work to improve quality of orthopaedic trauma care and to identify and reduce major risk factors for orthopaedic trauma in the community.
We're part of the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine.

About us
Funded by the TAC, we’ve generated significant improvements in major orthopaedic trauma care in Victoria since 2003.

Research
Our research is essential in determining the efficacy of different treatment methods, improving current management options and ultimately reducing the financial and social costs of orthopaedic trauma.

Investigators & Staff
Our project is led by a Steering Committee comprised of leading experts in the field of orthopaedic trauma. Professor Belinda Gabbe is the Chair of the Steering Committee and Melissa Hart is the Project Manager.

Participating Hospitals
Hospitals who contribute data to the registry are the two adult major trauma centres, The Alfred Hospital and The Royal Melbourne Hospital, and The Northern Hospital and The University Hospital Geelong.

Reports, Publications & Presentations
We have widely published the outcomes of the registry and include annual reports, peer-reviewed journal publications and conference presentations.

Data Request
The VOTOR dataset is a unique resource for projects, and de-identified aggregate data is available upon request, and in compliance with ethics guidelines.
Funding
This project is funded by the Transport Accident Commission (TAC).
