I started my degree in QLD the year after I finished school, however I soon decided that it would be best to make the move to Sydney and begin working in the industry as soon as possible.

I put my studies on hold for a year, then began studying Journalism through Monash University Gippsland. Soon after I landed the position of presenter and segment producer for Saturday Disney at Channel Seven. The journalism degree was relevant to my work, the subjects were varied and interesting, and the staff were really helpful and responsive.

How studying the Bachelor of Arts (Journalism) has assisted with my career development.

The entertainment industry is very competitive so it helps to have a degree behind you. While I enjoy presenting right now, my degree will assist me in the future should I choose to focus more on producing or writing. It has also given me the confidence and credibility to explore other areas within the network, such as news.

With my work timetable, I could not have committed to studying on-campus.

The distance education program is flexible but provides all the necessary resources and communication tools online.
