Subject adjustments

Subject adjustment points are bonus points awarded to you based on what you’ve studied. They boost your ranking and give you a better chance of getting into the course you want.

To be awarded subject adjustment points, you need to be a domestic Australian Year 12 or IB student, and your ATAR must meet or exceed the eligibility score for the course you want to study. The eligibility score is the minimum ATAR you need to be considered for subject adjustment points.

Subject adjustments – just like any other adjustments – are made to your combined study scores. Once the adjustments are made, we recalculate your ranking.

We can only grant you a maximum of eight subject adjustment points (even if you’re applying for a double degree). And you can only get 20 adjustment points in total from any adjustments you’re eligible for.
