About this program
Selected students will be enrolled in unit BEX3726 or BEX5726 for the SSB-01 teaching period.
This unit may count as a capstone or an elective unit in your undergraduate or postgraduate degree.
Monash Business School is proud to work with the Harpswell Foundation, which is dedicated to empowering young women in Cambodia through intensive leadership and academic development programs.
This unique study tour offers students the opportunity to contribute to this mission by collaboratively working with Harpswell and its students. Working with a not-for-profit focused on the development and promotion of women in leadership provides students with a rare opportunity to leverage their business skills to elevate young people in a developing country.
The focus will be on helping these young leaders to apply AI to their business needs, both strategically and operationally.
Participants will work in cross-cultural teams and engage directly with Harpswell’s students and staff. Your role will involve developing the structure and content of a program that connects the use of AI to core business concepts that may include:
- Marketing strategy and communication
- Financial planning and budgeting
- Compliance and regulation
- Risk identification and management
- Human resources
- Achieving other operational efficiencies.
You will get to know the organisation, its staff and students, and discover their needs to develop ways that AI can respond..
Before diving into program development, you’ll gain valuable insight into Cambodia’s dynamic business environment. Throughout the tour, you’ll have opportunities to explore:
- The cultural, social, and educational backgrounds of Harpswell’s students
- Their aspirations and the practical challenges they may face in business
- The broader socio-economic context that shapes business and entrepreneurship in Cambodia.
Through meaningful engagement with Harpswell and its wider community, you will develop a deeper understanding of how to design inclusive, sustainable, and impactful business solutions in a developing economy.
