Congratulations to Dr. Dariusz Jacek Skoraczynski

Congratulations to Dr. Dariusz Jacek Skoraczynski on the certification of his PhD thesis. The thesis, titled “Development of Wearable Intention Detection Systems for Predicting Hand Motion using Non-Contact Sensors”, focuses on the development of a human machine interface for intention detection systems used with prosthetic or orthotic hand devices. This system is split into two key components, those being novel sensors for measuring muscle activity and machine learning models for predicting hand motion. The system uses a custom designed, novel non-contact approach to sensing allowing it to gather high quality data on muscle activity and takes a high accuracy regression approach with the motion prediction algorithm.
