Congratulations to the Monash Nova Rover Team and Team Mountaineers on the joint publication of the article "A Tale of Two Rovers: How Different Philosophies Foster Innovation in the 2023 University Rover Challenge [Competitions]" in IEEE Robotics & Automation Magazine!

Since 2006, the University Rover Challenge (URC) has driven innovation in Mars rover development, inspiring students worldwide to push the boundaries of planetary robotics. The 2023 URC featured 104 teams from 15 countries, with 37 advancing to the finals at the Mars Desert Research Station (MDRS). Among them, Team Mountaineers from West Virginia University (WVU), USA, and the Monash Nova Rover Team from Monash University, Australia, secured first and second place, respectively.
