Rover Kids

This week is science week! To celebrate, Justina caught up with some young STEM superstars who have just created their very own Mars rover. Grant and his mates from Monash Uni in Melbourne have been hard at work creating this. Meet Waratah the pink rover! This lean, mean roving machine is pretty impressive. It can do things like fine movement with its robotic arms, retrieve special rocks, and move over different terrain. And it's also proved it stacks up against the rest of the country and the world. The team won the Australian Rover Challenge earlier this year and just placed second in the world at the University Rover Challenge in Utah! The students behind the rover mainly study engineering but some study things like science, design and IT too and they reckon all those different skills and perspectives could give them an edge over the competition.  The Rover story comes in at the 2m:04s mark.
