The Department of Fine Art at Monash University is highly regarded by the arts industry and is internationally recognised. We engage in a multidisciplinary studio-based approach to teaching and research which inspires critical reflection, artistic self-discovery and encourages a thought-provoking dialogue between art and ideas. We received the highest possible ERA ranking for Visual Arts and were categorised as ‘above world standard’ for Art History*, and we are also ranked in the Top 100 in the world for art and design^.
Monash’s Department of Fine Art boasts internationally recognised professional artists and art historians such as Brook Andrew, Rex Butler, Emily Floyd, Helen Johnson, Callum Morton, Stuart Ringholt, Kathy Temin and Daniel von Sturmer.
