Jialu Hou

Jialu Hou’s research focuses on wearable design, exploring innovative applications across disciplines and questioning the boundaries of design practice. Having studied in both China and the UK, his background combines research and practice, ranging from a research internship at the Shandong Industrial Design Institute in China to co-founding SCENT PRINT Studio in London.

As a designer and design-practice researcher, his creative work has received international recognition, including the Red Dot Design Concept Award, Core77 Design Award, K-Design Gold Award, and the Helen Hamlyn Design Award. His projects have been exhibited at major design events such as the World Industrial Design Conference, the London Design Festival, and Bangkok Design Week.

Jialu is currently a PhD candidate at the Design Health Collab, Monash University, where his research explores future possibilities for wearable design.
