This includes education and training in a range of different aeromedical and retrieval specific areas including aeromedical coordination, rescue and retrieval as well as fundamental flight concepts and advanced clinical decision making specific for the environment or the role that you will likely fulfil in your area of clinical practice.

I am a healthcare professional in another discipline; can I also complete this course?Yes, the Graduate Certificate of Emergency Health (Aeromedical and Retrieval) is available for experienced emergency clinicians who currently or are likely to work in this area including paramedics, nurses and physicians.
I am an international student, can I complete this course?This course is available to international students through Distance Education only. This course is not available to international students who are holders of an Australian student visa, for study onshore in Australia. Holders of some other categories of Australian visas living in Australia, and students studying off-campus by distance education and living outside of Australia may be eligible for this course.
Can I complete these courses entirely through Distance Education?Yes, this course has been specifically designed for distance education delivery.
What units should I complete?
Students are required to complete the two foundation units PAR4200 (introduction to aeromedical and retrieval concepts) and PAR4210 (aeromedical and retrieval professional practice) followed by two elective units from the aeromedical and retrieval suite including clinical (PAR4220 and PAR4250), coordination (PAR4230) and rescue (PAR4240) units.
What electives should I complete?The elective units that you complete depend on your level of clinical experience, skill set and anticipated scope of clinical practice. Your likely clinical or coordination role that you will perform after graduation will also guide your selection of either the coordination (PAR4230) or rescue (PAR4240) elective units. Students who do not anticipate being deployed in air rescue operations generally complete the aeromedical coordination unit PAR4230 instead of the rescue unit PAR4240. Most Intensive Care paramedics complete PAR4250 and PAR4240 elective units because of the roles that they normally perform in their areas of clinical practice.
What are the fees for these courses and what are my payment options?Students completing the Graduate Certificate of Emergency Health (Aeromedical and Retrieval) complete a total of four units of study which includes two core units and two elective units. Fees can be estimated for the Graduate Certificate of Emergency Health (Aeromedical and Retrieval) course 3876 using the fee calculator. Fees can be paid upfront or payment can be deferred through Fee HELP. There are no Commonwealth supported places available for this course.
When are the intakes for the Graduate Certificate?
The Graduate Certificate of Emergency Health (Aeromedical and Retrieval) has one intake per year, which commences in Second Semester (July) and concludes over the Summer Semester (November) each year. This course is offered in a part-time study mode only with the core unit PAR4200 and the clinical elective units offered in Second Semester followed by the other core unit PAR4210 and the coordination (PAR4230) or rescue (PAR4240) elective units offered in the Summer Semester
