Literature review on Silicosis and Return To Work

The protection of workers against the threat of silicosis is currently a national issue.

WorkCover Queensland engaged MonCOEH and the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) in a joint research literature review to understand the current state of knowledge to inform return to work (RTW) and vocational rehabilitation support for workers diagnosed with work-related silicosis or other chronic work-related respiratory conditions and to establish a way that these findings can be effectively translated into policy and practice.

The report, Return to Work and Vocational Rehabilitation Support for Workers Suffering from Silicosis, was published in December 2019 and is available from the WorkSafe Queensland website.
