If you are a researcher looking to grow primary care research, and requiring insight and input from clinicians, practice nurses, or practice managers who work in primary care, we may be able to assist. MonREN works with a network of primary care workers in Melbourne's south-east region and we are continually growing and connecting with new primary care clinics and staff who are interested in engaging in, and developing primary care research.

Please read through the below FAQs and complete the MonREN Network Access Application form if you would like to work with our network.

MonREN is specifically focused on primary care research. Our network is comprised of those working in primary care and it is mandatory that any research projects we work with have / or are planning to have a GP or similar in the research project group.
There are no specific study designs that we focus on, so anything from a survey to a randomised control trial is of interest to us.
Please note that our network is predominantly in Melbourne's south-east and eastern region.

To work with MonREN, certain criteria are necessary for your research project or study. If these criteria are confirmed, then you can complete an online access form. Your completed access form is reviewed by the MonREN team and if everything is in order, we can help promote your research to our network through our website, e-newsletter, or through direct contact with our clinics and primary care professionals.
It is best to contact MonREN as far in advance as possible. MonREN can also assist in the early stages if you need a clinician or primary care professional to join a steering group, or to provide insight during study design considerations.
There are fees associated with working with the MonREN network, which cover administrative costs. These fees are nominal and can be discussed based off research project needs.

Please note, Monash University projects which are unfunded will not be charged a fee for use of MonREN.
Within three months of utilising MonREN information, the requesting staff or student is required to communicate the following information to the MonREN Network Manager using the MonREN Reporting Form which will be sent to the researcher:

> Names of practices that were recruited for their project.

> Any new practices that have been recruited and who are located in Victoria that could be approached to join MonREN.

> Any feedback regarding the process of using MonREN
MonREN has been working to build a strong connection with clinicians and primary practice staff in the south-east and eastern regions of Melbourne. Utilising MonREN to engage with primary care workers is beneficially as we can assist you to promote your study directly to engaged and interested practices and primary care workers within the south-east and eastern regions of Melbourne. Because we work closely with clinics and staff, if you are seeking someone to join your steering group or someone to work as an advisor to your research project, we may be able to match you with practices/clinicians who are particularly interested in your specific study's subject area.
MonReN practices and members will only be contacted for research projects or for education purposes. The following criteria are essential:
> Approval from a nationally accredited Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) has been granted for the project and the HREC number provided.
> All research projects have a GP on the project team. Other members of a general practice team may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
> There should be reimbursement for practice staff for research participation.
> For student researchers, the request is approved by their supervisor.
> Study results are provided to the MonREN Network Manager for dissemination in the MonREN newsletter and/or MonREN website at the conclusion of the study.
