Partners

PEC-ANZ's aim was to build on existing collaborative partnerships between ambulance services, hospitals and university research groups: enabling the rapid translation of research into practice; and use research findings to establish credible and useful performance indicators.

PEC-ANZ was created to build a collaborative network between ambulance services, emergency departments and community based primary care providers, to understand drivers of demand and test candidate strategies. PEC-ANZ aimed to compare and contrast the care provided for specific clinical conditions by paramedics in ambulance services across Australia/New Zealand and the UK – with a view to reducing variation and better defining safe and appropriate care for emergency patients.

The partnership was comprised of the following leading universities and ambulance services: Monash University, Curtin University, Flinders University, Ambulance Victoria, South Australian Ambulance Service, Queensland Ambulance Service, Wellington Free Ambulance, St John Ambulance Northern Territory and St John Ambulance Western Australia.
