Helen has an extensive background working as a transfusion medicine scientist in major teaching hospitals in Melbourne and the Australian Red Cross Lifeblood. Helen co-ordinates a number of projects including the Australian and New Zealand Massive Transfusion Registry (ANZ-MTR) / National Transfusion Dataset (NTD). Helen also administers the Neonatal Alloimmune Thrombocytopenia (NAIT) Registry, the Haemoglobinopathy Registry (HbR), the Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) Cohort Study and provides support for the Thrombotic Microangiopathies (TMA) Registry (formerly the TTP Registry).

These roles involve co-ordinating all documentation, conducting reviews and updates, assisting with project governance and budget management and assisting with the management of splinter research groups. Helen oversees communications and data entry for registries other than the ANZ-MTR/NTD, liaises with hospital sites and coordinates steering committee meetings and other meetings.
