Apply for an undergraduate course – domestic students
Domestic undergraduate applications – mid-year intake 2026
There are no Commonwealth supported places available for domestic undergraduates in semester two 2026 (due to high demand in semester one). As a result, Monash won't be participating in VTAC rounds or accepting direct applications for this intake.
Exception: We’re still accepting applications for domestic students applying for Commonwealth supported places in the one-year honours course.
Before you get started, it’s a good idea to:
- confirm that you’re a domestic student
- have a shortlist of courses you’d like to apply for (in order of your preference)
- make sure you meet our entry requirements. For course-specific requirements, check the course entry in find a course or VTAC's CourseSearch.
If you’re under 18, your parent or guardian will need to sign an Under 18 Accommodation Agreement in order for you to live on your own in on-campus accommodation at Monash University. Similarly, if you’re under 18, your parent or guardian may need to sign some documentation for you to live in purpose-built student or homestay accommodation off campus.
Applying through VTAC
As a domestic student, you can apply for an undergraduate course at Monash through VTAC.
There are no places available for semester two 2026. Applications for semester one 2027 will open on Monday 3 August 2026.
How to apply
- Create a VTAC account.
- Enter your education history. In most cases, VTAC will be able to access your qualifications and results. If they can’t, you’ll need to provide evidence.
- List your course preferences, with your most preferred at the top.
- Submit and pay the application fee. You’ll need to submit your application on time to be considered for course offers. When you submit, you’ll need to pay a fee (see application dates and fees below).
For more information about the application process, take a look at VTAC’s how to apply for courses page.
Application dates and fees
VTAC has timely, late and very late application dates for different intakes. It’s best to submit a timely application for your intake period (there are higher fees for late submissions).
For dates and fees (including change of preference and offer round dates), see VTAC’s key dates and fees page.
Change of preference
If you change your mind about a course after submitting your application, it’s ok. You’ll be able to add, remove or re-order your course preferences during VTAC’s change of preference periods.
Entry schemes
Some students are eligible for an entry scheme to help them get into their preferred course. If you’re eligible, you can apply for an entry scheme through VTAC after you’ve submitted your course application.
Find out more and check your eligibility on our entry schemes page.
Credit for prior learning
If you’ve completed studies that could count towards a degree (such as a Higher Education Studies program, or units at another university), you may be eligible for credit for prior learning.
If you’re applying through VTAC, you don’t need to apply for credit for prior learning just yet (you can apply once you’ve accepted your offer and enrolled in units).
