Professor Dorothy Miell
Professor Dorothy Miell has been Vice-Principal of the University of Edinburgh and its Head of the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences since 2010. Dorothy is a Social Psychologist, working on relationships and communication and especially how these are involved in the process of collaborative working in creative fields such as music education, improvisation, composition and performance. She has collaborated with colleagues within both academic and professional arts settings in the UK, Europe and the USA on this work. Dorothy is past President of the British Psychological Society and former Chair of its Psychology Education Board. She is a member of the Boards of Scottish Opera, the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and the Impact Project planning Edinburgh’s next new Concert Hall.
