About this program
Selected students will be enrolled in unit BEX3723 or BEX5723 for the SSA-02 teaching period.

This future-oriented, intensive unit is offered in collaboration with Monash Business School, United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia Pacific (UNESCAP), Sydney-based research firm Incept Labs and professional body Institute of Public Accountants (IPA). Students will be provided an interdisciplinary space to undertake a facilitated Sustainable Futures Challenge through a ten day intensive program, that aims to develop essential skills to meet future global social, economic and environmental challenges.

In multidisciplinary teams, students collaborate across a cohort of their peers, working together with a client, undertaking their own independent research, creating their own stakeholder analyses, interrogating scenarios and alternatives, and deriving holistic solutions against real-world, complex sustainability problems facing the geographic area.
This unit focuses on developing skills including self-management, leadership, analytical and critical mindsets, engaging with social, economic and environmental development issues and research, integrated problem solving, dealing with uncertainty, policy critique and development, communication and coordination.
