MBA transition arrangements 2023-2024

As part of our ongoing commitment to excellence, we're making transformative changes to our MBA suite. In 2024, we are introducing a new Global Executive MBA (GEMBA) and Global Executive MBA double degree with the Master of Business (GEMBA/MBus).

MBA students who are currently completing Year One of their course are able to continue with their studies to complete the MBA as planned at the end of 2024, or choose to opt in to complete the GEMBA, or GEMBA/MBus double degree, under an approved course transition arrangement.

2024 course information

The course comprises 72 credit points structured in two Parts. Part A. Mastery Knowledge (48 credit points) and Part B. Electives (24 credit points). Units are 6 points unless otherwise indicated.
Part A. Mastery Knowledge (48 credit points)
Module 1 (24 credit points)

Module 2 (24 credit points)
You must complete:

- MBA5247 International business (incorporating an international study component)
Part B. Electives (24 credit points)
You must complete 24 credit points of electives at level 5 from the Faculty of Business and Economics, which could include study tours, consulting projects or industry placements. In addition, units may be selected from across the University as long as you have met the prerequisites and there are no restrictions on enrolling in the units.

- 24 credit points chosen from level 5 units from the Faculty of Business and Economics. Students will also be able to meet the requirements of one of the following specialisations*: Contemporary management, International business, and Marketing.
*Students are eligible to be “precluded” for a number of Master of Business units. A preclusion exempts students from having to enrol in and complete a specific unit for the purposes of satisfying a course prerequisite or core unit, and instead, students will select an alternate unit to study. Precluded units can also contribute towards satisfying the requirements of a specialisation.
