Design Investigation Towards Enhanced User Experience of Mobility-as-a-Service Ecosystem

Developing a design framework to reimagine the current design and implementation of MaaS systems and propose a new vision for the systems to ensure they are designed with people and support digital and social inclusion of seniors

This research project examines the relationship between emerging digital mobility solutions, seniors and digital exclusion. The aim is to investigate the current experience of seniors with transport in Melbourne and how the emerging solutions, especially the ones in the concept of Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) may impact the seniors’ future mobility experience. By recognizing and incorporating the needs and expectations of seniors, I seek to propose a new design framework for future MaaS systems toward more inclusive and diverse mobility ecosystems. This project will explore the implications of MaaS systems and generate new knowledge through a practice of integrated design discourse of inclusive design and speculative design.
