Down Syndrome Victoria
The Organisation
Down Syndrome Victoria is Victoria’s peak organisation representing people with Down syndrome and their families, supporting them to reach their potential and live the life they choose. We advocate for people with Down syndrome to have access to the same opportunities, supports and community activities as other Victorians.
About the volunteering program
Volunteer with Club21 - a peer support network for people with Down syndrome to develop friendships and share group-based, social experiences. Activities might include going to the movies, having a pub lunch, attending a concert or doing a pottery class - there is something for everyone!
Volunteer with FitSkills21 - an evidence-based physical activity program designed for individuals with Down syndrome. Each participant is paired with a partner volunteer for motivation and support. Workouts are weekly, facilitated and one hour long. Afterwards, everyone heads out for a meal together.
