Eligibility

Who is eligible?

You can participate in the GIG unit if you:

• are enrolled in one of the below eligible Monash University Australia undergraduate degrees;
• are in your first year (12 months) of your first degree at Monash University Australia at the time of application;
• achieve minimum 50 WAM in your first semester of study;
• complete a minimum of 12 credit points in your first semester of study; and
• are aged 18 or above at the time of departure.
• hold a current passport with at least two blank pages and a minimum validity of six months from the end of your overseas study. Please see the passport expiry dates per Block for the 2026/2027 program below.

Please note that your participation in the unit may also be subject to a check of your misconduct history. Where you have been found to have committed misconduct or have misconduct allegations pending against you, you may be removed from the unit.

Passport expiry dates per block:

Block 1: Passport must not expire before 6 June 2027

Block 2: Passport must not expire before 20 June 2027

Block 3: Passport must not expire before 17 July 2027

Block 4: Passport must not expire before 30 July 2027
