The Organisation

Koala Kids Foundation is a registered, not for profit, volunteer driven organisation that provides happy moments for children and young people undergoing cancer treatment.

We provide small things that make a difference to children and young people (from birth to 25 years) during cancer treatment, their families and their healthcare team. We provide therapeutic resources, family support and engaging activities in the Children’s Cancer Centres at The Royal Children’s Hospital and Monash Children’s Hospital, Royal Hobart Hospital, Launceston General Hospital, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and nine treatment hospitals in regional Victoria.

About the volunteer opportunity

Koala Kids is looking for Monash students to join its interactive hospital program at Monash Children’s Hospital.  Students will be able to facilitate craft, art and other fun activities with primary school age children as well as make light conversation with parents and carers.  They will be expected to acquire knowledge about Koala Kids so they can discuss the support that Koala Kids provides families both in hospital (outpatients and inpatients) and in their homes.
