Mornington Peninsula Koala Conservation
The Organisation
Mornington Peninsula Koala Conservation is a registered Landcare group under Landcare Victoria. We raise awareness for the challenges koalas face and plant 25,000 trees annually across the Mornington Peninsula.
About the Program
On the Mornington Peninsula, more than 70% of koala habitat is on private property, so the Mornington Peninsula Koala Conservation group (MPKC) is helping landholders to improve wildlife habitat. The Peninsula has less than 30% tree canopy left and areas of habitat are heavily fragmented. MPKC is aiming to plant trees in many different locations across the Mornington Peninsula, to increase tree canopy and connect/expand areas of indigenous vegetation.
Join members of the community to plant 100s of koala food trees and other local trees and shrubs to increase koala habitat around the beautiful Mornington Peninsula.
