The Dax Centre
The Organisation
The Dax Centre is a non-profit art gallery located in Parkville. We showcase artists with a lived experience of mental illness or psychological trauma, and house the Cunningham Dax Collection of over 16,000 pieces by people with lived experience.
The Dax Centre is a leader in the use of art to raise awareness and reduce stigma toward mental illness. Through our exhibitions and educational programs we seek to engage, inform and encourage community connections and conversations about mental health.
About the volunteering program
There are three volunteer roles available to Monash students.
Visitor Services volunteers - working Front of House in the gallery space.
Digitalisation Volunteers - helping to make a digital version of the collection available online to the public.
Education Volunteers - providing support for the educator and Lived Experience advocate.
