Participatory Community Projects & Clinics
Community engagement is central to the work of the Department of Occupational Therapy at Monash University. One way students in the Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Hons) and the Masters of Occupational Therapy Practice (MOTPrac) programs engage with the local community is through the Participatory Community Practice (PCP) program. Students undertake a major project across two semesters (undergraduate program) or two terms (master’s program) in collaboration with a community-based human service organisation. PCP projects aim to address an issue, opportunity or need identified by the sponsoring organisation. Each PCP project stems from a genuine reciprocal partnership between the community organisation and the Department of Occupational Therapy, where the overall aim of the partnership is to make a significant difference in our communities by fulfilling unmet needs within a specific population group.
Learn more about how our OT students connect with the local community by undertaking a project that addresses health and wellbeing as part of their course.
