International Early Career Achievement Award
Congratulations to Dr Lisa Higgins from ANZIC-RC, recipient of the Critical Care International Early Career Achievement Award at the American Thoracic Society conference which is currently underway in San Diego. Nominated by Professor Carol Hodgson, Lisa is a health economics research fellow, with a focus on evaluating the costs of care in critical illness, and conducting economic evaluations alongside clinical trials in critical care.
PhD student awarded Cost-Effectiveness Analysis Paper of the Year
Our PhD student Tan Nguyen has been awarded the 6th annual Center for the Evaluation of Value and Risk in Health Cost-Effectiveness Analysis Paper of the Year Award. Tan's paper assesses the impact of a 20% sugar sweetened beverages tax on preventing dental caries in the Australian population. Read more here.
Australian Clinical Trials Alliance Award
Health Economics Group researchers won the inaugural 2023 Australian Clinical Trials Alliance HEAT Excellence in Trial Based Health Economics Award for their economic evaluation of the Target-D program. Read more here.
