General infectious diseases epidemiology research
Our research focuses on understanding and mitigating the spread of infectious diseases across diverse populations. We conduct studies on the epidemiology, transmission, and control of diseases including environmental pathogens, gastrointestinal, respiratory and vector borne diseases, as well as other emerging infections. Our work spans from large-scale population studies and surveillance to targeted interventions aimed at reducing disease burden. We collaborate with public health agencies, healthcare providers, and academic partners to develop evidence-based strategies that inform national and global health policies. This research is critical in understanding risks for infections to address both current public health challenges and prepare for future outbreaks.
The COVIC-HA Study set out to investigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on health and aged care workers and workplace culture in Victoria, Australia, at a time when limited data existed on the subject.
