Angela Batson

Dr Angela Batson is a Research Fellow within the Behavioural Safety Science team at the Monash University Accident Research Centre. Angela's PhD studies centered on a systems thinking approach to injury prevention, with a focus on managing the health, safety, and wellbeing of ageing heavy vehicle drivers.

Within her current role as a Research Fellow, Angela works on a range of health and safety research projects, including within workplace road safety. Angela's research methodology has included Systems Theoretic Accident Model and Processes (STAMP) analysis, legislative and regulatory analysis, qualitative data analysis (including thematic analysis), and quantitative data analysis (including survey analysis).
Angela's research has included examination of risk and safety management within the areas of: safety culture; health management; grey fleet safety; heavy vehicle driving; light vehicle driving; gig platform economy driving; driver direct and indirect vision; fitness to drive; speed management; and driver training.
